The Garden Club open meetings are typically presentations from local and guest speakers about all things garden care, botanical and relevant to our rich coastal Pacific Northwest environment.

Monthly Garden Club Member meetings are on the 2nd Wednesday of the month from 10-12 to discuss Garden Club business, social time and lunch. Each meeting includes tips on horticulture and flower arranging (design) and a presentation from a local speaker. We get to know each other during our lunch as well as field trips that introduce us to all things botanical.
Directly following the lunch at noon, will be a 1 hour program presented by a guest speaker and open to the public. Presentations cover a wide range of garden, botanical and ecological information.

We maintain our clubhouse and Pavilion as a place available
for community and individual functions for a
minimal usage fee and cleaning deposit.

The Nordland Garden Club makes an annual donation to The Community Wellness Project, which provides garden education at Chimacum, Quilcene, and Port Townsend primary and elementary schools.
CWP supports garden education at all three of these districts, but currently manages the gardens and provides all programming at Chimacum Elementary and Chimacum Creek Primary.
Educators work with children in planting, tending, harvesting, tasting, and learning together in the garden, including sharing extra food with Food Services in the school cafeterias.

The Nordland Garden Club donates funds to the Backpack Program, which provides weekend and summer lunches for children who are food insecure.

Each year, the Nordland Garden Club collects financial donations from its members to provide holiday gift packages for one or more families served by Dove House Advocacy Services. Families provide their “wish lists” and gifts are purchased and delivered to Dove House to be given to the families.

The Nordland Garden Club regularly collects non-perishable food and household goods that are needed by and taken to the Tri-Area Food Bank to serve local residents. Members are encouraged to share fresh produce from their own gardens, and a large apple tree on club grounds provides apples.

The Kurtzo Pavilion was built on Nordland Garden Club property in 2005, with funds from a bequest of Joe Kurtzo, island resident and artist. The pavilion and surrounding native garden are maintained by the Nordland Garden Club. It is available for community use at no cost but must be reserved through the building usage reservation process—> For more information, please call(360) 385-5122 to leave a message, or email us at nordlandgardenclubevents@gmail.com and one of our Trustee’s will respond.
